Timeline of Service
Foundation
Mazeppa Fire Engine Company #2 was organized in 1851 and officially founded on January 6, 1852, making it one of the oldest fire companies in Rockland County.
Station Construction
Our current station was constructed at 68 Main Street, Nyack. This historic building has served as our home base for over 140 years and remains operational today.
Membership Growth
Membership expanded significantly, growing from the initial 50 founding members to 76 active volunteers, reflecting the community's commitment to fire protection.
Edward Hopper Connection
Local artist Edward Hopper, who would later become world-renowned, created notable sketches of our station and firefighting equipment, capturing the spirit of community service.
Community Leadership
John W. Dalley, a prominent local businessman and lifelong member, made significant contributions to both the fire department and the broader Nyack community.
Modernization Era
Continued modernization of firefighting equipment and procedures, adapting to new technologies and evolving safety standards to better serve our growing community.
Community Expansion
